Maxtor Onetouch 4 Serial Number And
I put the drive in a home theater for storage of movies on an old Dish Satellite system I used back then. I don't know what I have but my system is 64 bit so the exercise could be effort in futility.I have no information on the drive from its purchase back around 2001. A later model, almost the same name, has specs that say a similar and newer drive is only usable on 32 bit Windows systems. It tells me there is no firmware available for this serial number and there is no information on this particular drive.
I put all my transformers into a huge box with probably 20 or 30 of them. It has two connectors on the drive, one for USB and another, which I presume is for power via transformer. I thought I might make use of it and was looking for documentation for connections. I went to DirecTV and used their storage, and this drive sat unused for the last 12-15 years.
I'm trying to find something about it and I don't want to get into the frustration of going to the Seagate support center as I'd question anyone there can tell me much. Drive is practically unused, 7200 rpm. I'm just wondering if it's worth the effort. Was going to hook up and try, but no joy without power.
